Castlebellingham - Drogheda

What a day!   Great weather, 21 miles covered and some smashing scenery.   This near the start, looking back towards Slieve Foy.

A group of local gardeners pretending to be runners.

Annagassan harbour where Vikings once established a small port.
This could be Sri Lanka but we've not reached there just yet.

Big man and wee house.

Michael, who ran 20 miles on Sunday, strides along Clougherhead beach during today's 21 miler.

The village of Termonfeckin.
Feckin was a saint who, in 664, exterminated the 'lower classes' in Ireland.  The village was also once home to Archbishop Ussher, who 'proved' that the world began in 4004 BC, and Evann Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter.

Brian finally gets back to his birthplace near the Boyne at Drogheda.

The end of today's pilgrimage - the shrine to St Oliver Plunkett at St Peter's in Drogheda.  He was executed at Tyburn, near Marble Arch, in 1681 and his head brought back here.

Brian enjoys one of my specially baked buns on the way home.
