Travelling light is the secret of long distance running. Pat arrived today with this massive bag, containing a spare pair of shoes, an Arctic survival kit and goodness knows what else. At one point, something resembling a loaf of bread fell out on the road.
Another thing that you can go without is a hair brush - but try telling that to a woman.
Today's crew, with Hugh struggling to stay awake, on the banks of the Boyne.
The Maiden Tower at Mornington.
A place linked with the Duke of
Wellington and Jodie Kidd's sister.
That's not them in the photo.
Off down the deserted beach towards Bettystown, with snow covered Slieve Donard far behind us. Not a bad place to spend a Tuesday morning.
I asked a man in Bettystown what the place was most famous for. After a few moments deep in thought, he replied: "nothing". However, this statue of a guy flying his kite is as good as I've ever seen.
The finish today at Laytown - where they have horse race meetings on the beach. Crowds of up to 10 000 attend each September; Parnell was once a steward at the races here.
What a day! Great weather, 21 miles covered and some smashing scenery. This near the start, looking back towards Slieve Foy.
A group of local gardeners pretending to be runners.
Annagassan harbour where Vikings once established a small port.
This could be Sri Lanka but we've not reached there just yet.
Big man and wee house.
Michael, who ran 20 miles on Sunday, strides along Clougherhead beach during today's 21 miler.

The village of Termonfeckin.
Feckin was a saint who, in 664, exterminated the 'lower classes' in Ireland. The village was also once home to Archbishop Ussher, who 'proved' that the world began in 4004 BC, and Evann Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter.
Brian finally gets back to his birthplace near the Boyne at Drogheda.
The end of today's pilgrimage - the shrine to St Oliver Plunkett at St Peter's in Drogheda. He was executed at Tyburn, near Marble Arch, in 1681 and his head brought back here.
Brian enjoys one of my specially baked buns on the way home.
